NoFTL: Database Systems on FTL-less Flash Storage

Summary: NoFTL removes the opaque FTL layer, integrating flash translation and native access into the database to exploit device-level behavior. A Shore-MT prototype with a data-driven emulator achieves up to 3.7× higher TPC performance and a simpler, more predictable I/O stack. (summarized by gpt-5.6-luna on Jul 24 2026)
