Enhancing Database Write Performance with the Write Operation Pushdown Framework

Summary: Write Operation Pushdown (WOP) eliminates fetch-before-write remote page reads in disaggregated databases by asynchronously executing redo operations at storage with semantic awareness and lightweight metadata. Fetch-after-write replay preserves read consistency, delivering up to 6.7× throughput and 85.2% lower latency. (summarized by gpt-5.6-luna on Aug 28 2026)
