Rethinking serializable multiversion concurrency control

Summary: BOHM is a pessimistic, serializable MVCC protocol for multicore systems in which reads never block writes and perform no bookkeeping. By avoiding validation, read tracking, and excessive aborts, it substantially outperforms existing multiversion and single-version schemes. (summarized by gpt-5.6-luna on Jul 24 2026)
